Shawn Christopher, a legendary figure in the US House music scene, is an African American recording artist whose career spans over three decades, captivating audiences both in America and around the globe.
In 1989, she provided the lead vocals for Lil Louis’ “French Kiss,” which soared to #1 on the Billboard Chart and #2 on the UK Singles Chart. In 1995, Shawn contributed backing vocals to “Heartbeat” by Jimmy Somerville.
Throughout the 1990s, Shawn achieved three #1 singles on the Hot Dance Club Play chart with her own tracks: “Another Sleepless Night” in 1991, which also reached #67 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #50 on the UK Singles Chart; “Don’t Lose the Magic” in 1992, peaking at #71 on the Hot 100 and #30 on the UK Singles Chart; and “Sweet Freedom” in 1998.
In 2024 Shawn Christoper re-released “Don’t Lose The Magic” with a new production and new mixes.
