STACEY JAY is a singer/songwriter who was first signed to Polydor Records in 1992 with her debut single “Accelerate” which was produced by SKIN UP this took her on a journey that accelerated her musical career! “Accelerate” hit the UK Top 40 with the ‘B’ side “Horny” also making waves within the dance music scene. Her follow up track “Music of the Future” was released by XS Rhythm Records under the artist’s name of LUST and this also hit the charts, both bringing big club success.
In 1996, Stacey connected with Ricky Simmonds and Steve Jones (aka The Space Brothers) and together they formed KLYMAX. They signed “I’ve Got a Feeling” to ZTT/WEA Records and it quickly became a club anthem being played weekly at the iconic ‘Love Muscle xx’ night at The Fridge, in Brixton London, amongst many other clubs. Stacey/KYLYMAX subsequently toured throughout the UK performing at a series of Pride festivals including London Pride appearing alongside Kylie Minogue, as well as live TV and Radio promo. In 1998 Stacey was asked to join Sunscreem on a 25 date University and Club UK Promotional Tour.
Her love for dance music and performing has never faltered and in 2018 she auditioned for The X-Factor performing live at Wembley Arena and wowing the judges with her own comic versions of popular songs.
More recently she has returned to her dance routes and has written and recorded several techno/trance/progressive house tracks with London and European based Producers from Italy, Holland, Sweden, and Germany.
Her tracks have been released by a variety of labels including up and coming trance label Positive State Records and her track “Freedom”, exploring uplifting Balearic vibes was successfully released on Rino Da Silva’s label Experimental X.
In 2022 Stacey recorded a cover of “Wild Thing” produced by Torture Garden resident DJ/Producer Danny Oliver that made heads turn!
2023/24 will see the release of “Lighthouse” and “Flying High” on Redux Recordings and Experimental-X Records.
